JOB QUALIFICATIONS:  


1. High school graduate and college course work or practical experience in computer operation.
2. Knowledge of computer terminology and hardware/software.
3. Aptitude for working with arithmetical computations and logic among computer programs.
4. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
5. Ability to work independently.
6. Ability to train district personnel.
7. Ability to use standard office equipment and machines including, but not limited to the following:  computer, copy machine, VoIP telephone, printer, calculator and fax.
8. Relate to students, staff and public in a positive manner.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  

 



Support and maintain technology equipment among school sites, ensuring reliable functionality across the District.



 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

1. Provide excellent customer service in supporting users’ (staff and students at all 8 school sites) technology needs and technology equipment.
2. Respond to employee IT help tickets in a timely manner, communicating the result to the end-user, and updating the help tickets with notes when appropriate.
3. Collaborate with fellow Computer Technicians on larger support projects, and regularly share helpful information learned throughout the course of daily support efforts.
4. Identify, imagine and investigate ways in which support processes could be more innovative and efficient.
5. Configure, distribute, repair and replace technology equipment for staff and/or students.
6. Operate, maintain, provide backup and oversee district systems and site servers.
7. Provide training on hardware and software use, including Google products (Gmail, Google Drive) and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Windows and Chrome Operating Systems, and basic computer skills.
8. Set up and break down/remove technology equipment for meetings or presentations, as requested.
9. Prioritize work requests and balance support time among multiple work sites and/or departments.
10. Attend department trainings to further professional development.
11. Apply safety understanding with equipment operation and other precautions as outlined in MSDS.
12. Contribute to the team by accomplishing additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:  
EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION:  

 


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents in English materials lists and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence in English. Ability to speak effectively in English before groups of customer or employees.


 


REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and verbal form.


 


EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated by the Technology Supervisor and Director for Information Services.


 


SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: Supervised by the Technology Supervisor.
